Lucy called me during my break at work to tell me she was calling an emergency girls night. Apparently Rita and her boyfriend broke up today and it was essential that to the healing process that I joined them for pizza and wine tonight. It was easy enough to get Madison to take the rest of my shift, I've covered for her so many times now she owes me big.
Anyway, back to Rita and her boyfriend. Normally it's not such a big deal when she looses one of her boyfriends. Before I moved in she used to have a new guy every couple of weeks, at least, that's what Lucy told me one day. We were both surprised when Darren lasted a month, even more when he was still around five months later. They were approaching a year together so when Lucy called I'll admit I was a little bit surprised.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in before was that all Darren's things that had found their way into the house were piled in a heap by the front door. Not the smartest place to leave it, I nearly tripped over it when I stepped inside. It's all part of the "cleansing process" Rita called it. I've never heard of anything like that before but went with it anyway. Who am I to make her feel any worse after the day she's already had.
Our pizza should be here soon, Lucy just finished ordering. I guess now is as good a time as any to wrap up this blog post, it's not like I've much else to say about today. Tomorrow you'll know the aftermath of our girls night. Hopefully things won't get to crazy but armed with our cheap wine and pizza I'm not going to make any guarantees.
